Self Improvement begins at Home
One of the biggest issues of self improvement is that most people do not know where to begin. You feel that you have so many things to change that you get bogged down in what to do first and you end up not doing anything at all. I used to run into this problem but now I use a list system. I start by making a list of what I need to change or would like to change. I found that one of the first things I needed to do was write it down. To see it on paper! This made it real. A lot of self help gurus will tell you that you should use visual aids to help yourself achieve your goals.
If you want to lose weight buy a dress or outfit that you would like to fit into that you cannot do now. If you would like to take a trip, hang up a picture of the place you would like to go to. If you would like to make more money, write a list of the things you would buy with the more money. Ideally you should keep it as realistic as possible. If you are 100 pounds overweight, look to lose it in segments. If you are looking to buy a house look to save in increments. Give yourself achievable steps on your way to your ultimate goal. It is like the old story, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Well mark it with eating one leg, then the other so that you see progress and keep your confidence about each goal.
Our next post will be about attitude
